One of the leading Lebanese energy companies Phoenix Energy is now set to construct one of the largest solar power plant in Egypt after clinching a contract for the same.

According to the officials from the Lebanese firm, the project will be constructed near Luxor and Aswan region in the country.
According to the officials, the project is expected to be one of the biggest in Egypt.  Phoenix Energy will install over 200,000 solar panels on a land area of 1.1 million sq m to produce a 62 megawatt peak.

The electricity production will be sold to Egypt for $16 million, yearly, at a price of 14.35 cents per kilowatt hour, the report stated.

Phoenix Energy is one of 40 companies working on the project and the only Lebanese company to qualify.
This is one of the very many power projects that are being carried in Egypt as the country now eyes in improving the power sector which has been struggling by being affected by frequent power black outs.

The Phoenix Energy supplies renewable energy products, such as solar water heaters, solid fuel boilers, wind turbine systems and PV, LED Lights Solutions, and WFH to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Late last Year the president of Egypt signed a contract with international power producers such as Siemens to carry out power project.

One of the biggest power projects that is currently ongoing is the construction of Egypt’s nuclear power plant which also faces ban in being covered by all media outlets around the globe.
