Dangote Cement Ghana Limited, has announced expansion plans to meet the growing demand of its products in Ghana. Media Relations Manager of Dangote Cement Ghana, Etornam Komla Buami, announced during the Diplomatic Fair held at the Accra International Trade Fair.

The company has assured of speedy completion of its new plant which is currently under construction in Takoradi. The company will as well expand its cement production facility in Tema in order to increase its silo capacity beyond the current production capacity of 21000 tonnes.

“The demand for Dangote Cement is increasing by the day and we have no choice than to speed up our expansion works,” says Media Relations Manager of Dangote Cement Ghana, Etornam Komla Buami.  “This is a positive development for the whole of Ghana in terms of job creation and contributions to the general economic growth of the country,” he added.

Buami acknowledged that Dangote Cement penetrated into the Ghanaian market just some few years back, since then company has employed over 700 workers as well as creating thousands of indirect employment in the country’s construction industry.

Nonetheless, the company has been contributing immensely towards the country’s economic growth on account of its employment creation opportunities as well as meeting its tax obligations. However, the company has plans to increase the staffing strength to 1,700 by end of July. The company intends to recruit additionally 1000 more workers.
