Consolis Egypt (ECPC), the leading precast producer, has announced the production of the first floating concrete pontoons in Egypt using a French technology. Production of the new product will take place at the company’s Precat factory in 10th of Ramadan City.

ECPC floating concrete pontoon solutions are designed for waterfront developments. Special features of the newly launched product are durability, safety, and stability. The devised solutions don’t rot corrode, loosen, or rattle from the moist, windy, and salty marine environment.

Tamer Fouad, senior business development manager at Consolis Egypt, said the new product launch marks yet another significant milestone in the direction of Consolis Egypt. The French technology quality and site-specific engineering delivers proven durability of more than 20-years. Rigorous tests are carried out to ensure effectiveness in processes control, safety, and environmental standards.

Fouad announced that Consolis Egypt was awarded over EGP 10 million (US$1.4million) deal in collaboration with an Italian contractor and a Consulting company to manufacture and install 1,000 units of the newly launched floating concrete pontoon blocks to build a walkway and a dock at ‘Ayala’ Sea Port in Jordan. He affirmed that the firm is using its extensive expertise and latest industry technical standards in the project.

Consolis Egypt reported positive results last year despite the instability experienced by the country’s political turmoil. The company supplied a total of 300 thousand tons of concrete over the past year in addition to producing 20 kilometer vertical pipes for various sewage and power plants enabling the company to acquire around 80percent of the piping industry’s market share in Egypt.
