LP Hoying, LLC designs and manufactures solar power supplies that are used in the cathodic protection industry. These power supplies are used worldwide for the protection of assets including oil and natural gas well casings, pipelines, and associated infrastructure. LP Hoying, LLC has been in business since 1995 and has a broad base of installed units providing reliable protection for their customers. All of their units come with all components needed for installation, and are easily assembled in the field.

LP Hoying, LLC’s marketing manager Doug Hoying said their company is focusing in Africa since some of their products are being used in some major countries in Africa. Doug also added that their products are designed to operate in remote areas without the need for constant attention. Periodic routine maintenance is limited to cleaning battery terminals and rinsing solar panels. These systems are well suited to the environment of the African continent.

Their Sunpole is a ready to install solar power supply, with twelve volt one amp rating, that is shipped complete with temperature compensated charge regulator, crystalline solar panel, 12 volt lead acid battery with a minimum of 100 hours autonomy (Nicad battery optional), heavy duty battery box, switching output controller with load drop for battery protection, heavy duty steel pole with panel support, and wiring harness. This power supply was designed to provide the needed boost to areas where structure potentials don’t quite reach protected levels. Installation is easy and all required materials are provided. Other ratings are available, up to 24 volts and up to 5 amps.

Their LP Hoying LLC Charge/output controller, is available with Constant Voltage (CVO), Constant Current (CIO), Reduced Energy at Nighttime (REN) with either voltage or current Control and Auto-Potential (VIP) modes of output control. This controller provides an efficient Wattage converter for stepping the voltage down to the required output level using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) in both charge and output functions.
