A major redevelopment of Menlyn Park Shopping Center, which is to make it the largest malls on the South of Africa and in Africa, is being undertaken. The redevelopment of the park located in Pretoria along the N1 Highway, will include an expansion to have it accommodate more than 500 shops.

Expansion of the mall that sits in Pretoria will be undertaken in two phases and is expected to feed the growing demand in retailers. About 50, 000m2 of space and 200 stores are set for addition. The project is expected to complete in November next year.

Phase one of expansion, which was expected to be complete in the final quarter of next year, would see event arena reconfiguration; while phase 2 and completed refurbishment were expected to be complete in the last quarter of 2016.

Redevelopment of Menlyn Park shopping Center will also see it revamped into an iconic and premium shopping center, as well as a fashion and attraction center. Part of the redevelopment includes refurbishment and rebranding.  The expansion will see it sitting on a total area of 170 000sqm.

The mall is co-owned by Pareto Limited (Pareto) and Old Mutual Life Assurance Company in South Africa Limited. CEO of Pareto Marius Muller was quoted saying “The Menlyn Park shopper is fashion forward and appreciates quality design.”
