Phase 2 of the Fischer-Tropsch Wax Expansion Project (Sasol FTWEP project) by Energy and Chemical company, Sasol Group is currently on progress.
Kentz Construction Company, an Engineering and Construction Company recently secured a contract worth US $24m from Sasol to handle the piping and mechanical work for the pack 3 of the phase of the Sasol FTWEP project.

The contract will see to it that Kentz Construction Company carries out fabrication, installation, Testing and handover of the mechanical works and piping construction of the FT Synthesis unit 2600 which is on Sasol’s site.

Kentz Construction Company will provide all the piping construction services which will see to it that 16 vessels and exchangers, 12 pumps and a compressor package, carbon and stainless steel piping, carbon and stainless steel welding tracing are worked on.

According to the Sub-Saharan Region Senior Executive for Kentz, Carl Dyer, the company has had five years of operations on FTWEP and its continual involvement in this phase of the project was great. Sasol and Kentz have had a 30 years working relationship.

After successful commissioning of the first phase, the Sasol FTWEP project will enable the company expand its hard wax production for use in coatings, printing ink, adhesives and asphalt.
