Upon deep consultation with locals and international industry representatives, a decision was met to have a three year cycle for the African markets for BAUMA CONEXPO Africa. This means that the next exhibition will be held in 2018 after this year’s.

According to the CEO of BC Expo South Africa, an event organizing firm, Elaine Crewe, the decision was made after a lot of discussions which were motivated by the premiere of BAUMA CONEXPO Africa in 2013. This will position the expo as the leading trade fair in Africa for both the Construction and mining industries.

The Chairperson for Construction and Mining equipment Suppliers Association (Conmesa), Lawrence Peters noted that the new interval will also be effective for Africa as it will help depict markets correctly. This will also give both the local and international exhibitors enough time for preparation for the intense activities that take place during the event period.

During its first premier, Bauma Africa had 754 exhibitors from 38 countries and 14, 700 visitors from over 100 countries making it the biggest ever event to have taken place in Africa taking up a total of 60 000m2 of exhibition space.

During the Bauma Africa 2013 expo, organizers had decided that the 2015 would take up the new name BAUMA CONEXPO Africa which comes in as a joint venture between trade show company Messe München and North America-based international trade group Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).

According to the MD for Messe München, Eugene Egetenmeir, the new name is a reflection of the close corporation between the two companies.
BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA 2015 will take place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from September 15 to 18.
