A new construction machine in South Africa has been launched by  Bomag Group, a Germany based company. The MPH 364 which is a  compact and powerful machine was launched during the BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA 2015 at the Bell Equipment stand in South Africa.

The new construction machine in South Africa has an operating weight of 17 tonnes and a working width of 2,005 mm. The compact design and a powerful 360 HP engine makes the machine the preferred choice for small projects such as car parks, minor roads and paths.

The rear-mounted milling rotor allows the machine to perform well in places where maneuverability is important, like on corners and around street lights, manhole covers and other obstacles. The machine has been design in a way that allows the driver to have a good view of the relevant work areas around the machine and also to negotiate them with precision.

The operating controls are clearly arranged and focused on the essentials. Functions are clearly described to enable intuitive handling of all instruments and help the operator to familiarization with the machine. Along with the hydraulic steering, there is a travel lever and separate wheel brakes for the rear axle, providing the machine with effective precision steering.

To stabilize soil, lime, fly ash or cement is mixed into the prevalent material to improve the soil or stabilize the sub-soils in embankments, and when used for recycling, the machine rips up asphalt pavements, including the bearing course, crushes the material and mixes in new binder. This increases its utility and extends its range of application.

However, when it comes to maintenance such as checking the oil level or cleaning the air filter, the operating devices have been designed for easy access and control. The MPH 364 also performs well in larger road construction projects on account of equipment like a water spray system that is usually only found as standard in larger machines.
