The much anticipated construction of a super highway in Nigeria is on course following reports that president Muhammadu Buhari is set to perform the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the 260km highway in Cross River State.

The ceremony is scheduled to be conducted on the 21st day of September this year.

The Super Highway in Nigeria project construction will begin from Calabar all the way to the Northern part of Nigeria. Nonetheless, the project is aimed at easing the travel time from Calabar to Obudu Ranch Resort which presently takes 6 hours; the time will be reduced to 2 hours when the project is completed.

The good news was revealed to public by the Government Spokesperson Mr. Christian Ita and Senator Ben Ayade the Cross River State Governor. The Highway is one of the 2 major key projects in the state.

However, major geo-technical studies have already been carried out on the Bakassi Deep Seaport. And when the highway project is completed it will serve as the evacuation route for the Seaport. the construction works on the proposed Sea Port is set to commence in October this year.

Nigeria has beefed .up efforts to rehabilitate and construct new roads in the country in a bid to boost trade.
