With the theme being “unlocking the value of building information modeling in Africa” the Building Information Modeling in Africa Conference is set to take place in March 16 and 17, 2016 in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa.

With the unfolding of greater industry demands, BIM is keen on promoting learner operations throughout a construction project’s lifecycle. Contractors are at the heart of the workflows and processes that see the greatest benefits from BIM. Adopters of BIM accrue competitive, financial and operational benefits with usage and mastery of BIM processes and technologies. Globally, construction companies represent the fastest-growing segment of BIM adopters and are leading the industry in innovative applications of the technology. Autodesk appreciates the opportunity to support meaningful research and analysis to learn from the industry and advance effective and efficient construction project management through BIM.

This is a two day conference that will put to light lessons learnt from implementation and the role of BIM in supporting the operation of Projects.

Financial metrics, such as reduced cost, higher profitability and higher productivity, are generally considered the most important category for measuring ROI on BIM investments, followed by metrics related to the project delivery process, such as fewer RFI’s, fewer unplanned changes, higher customer satisfaction and less disruption in project process.

Renowned speakers from the leading construction firms and Institutes and BIM bigwigs are set to grace the event.
