Captains of Captains 2016

Captains of construction 2016-Access Africa event

Access Africa is an exclusive platform focused on providing essential information on the investment climate and opportunities in key economic sectors across Africa. Access Africa specializes in bridging the gap for governments, investors and industry players in Africa’s key economic growth sectors.

Date: Tuesday 10th May

venue: Gallagher Estate, Johannesburg

The Captains of Construction projects builds on the foundation that has been laid at the first annual event and publication in 2015. The project is two-fold, comprising the Captains of Construction Leadership Forum and the Captains of Construction Leader’s Book.

The Captains of Construction Leadership Forum provides an exclusive platform where the most prevalent issues hindering infrastructure development can be explored. Moreover, it will highlight the opportunities that exist for further development through the collaboration of public and private stakeholders.

In 2016 the Captains of Construction Leadership Forum will seek to address the following questions:
• What role does the private sector have to play in the development of large-scale infrastructure projects in Southern Africa?
• How do we prioritise infrastructure projects?
• What are the key challenges inhibiting private sector participation in infrastructure projects in Southern Africa?
• What incentives and vehicles do governments provide for private participation in infrastructure projects in Southern Africa?

The 2016 Captains of Construction Leadership Forum will be transcribed and made available to attendees and used as a tool for continued discussions between public and private stakeholders throughout the year.
