Premier Hotel Sani Pass in South Africa, located in the picturesque Mkomazana Valley in the southern Drakensburg, is due to undergo a full refurbishment, estimated to conclude on 1 December 2016.

The nine-month project will see the hotel, built in 1958, upgraded to meet the hospitality requirements of avid, modern travellers. Surrounded by the Drakensburg Mountains, 34 additional rooms will be built and all rooms will have balconies and breath-taking views of the Sani Pass and Southern Drakensberg.

The refurbishment will see Premier Hotel Sani Pass advance from 3-star to 4-star status with renovations including air-conditioning installed in all of the facilities and rooms, Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and garden rooms outside the main hotel building. A key focus point for the project will be providing entertainment facilities for families, including a new Wellness Centre.

A modern state of the art conference centre, accommodating up to 300 in cinema style with air-conditioning, will also be constructed, with the aim to becoming the best and biggest conference facility between the south coast and the Drakensberg.

“The purpose of our R75 million investment in Premier Hotel Sani Pass is to see the hotel become the best 4-star resort in the southern Drakensberg. After months of planning and careful deliberation, we are looking forward to providing our guests with even better, quality rooms and facilities towards the end of 2016,” says Managing Director of Premier Hotels & Resorts, Samuel Nassimov.

G2 Construction (pty) ltd, experts in commercial building, residential building and residential development, have been selected as the sole construction company to work on the refurbishment, along with Paul Batho who has been assigned as the architect, all under the guidance of Nassimov.
