The African Development Bank (AFDB) and Infrastructure Africa are in top gear with preparations to host the 2016 edition of the Infrastructure Africa Business Forum that will incorporate side event, the Africa Inclusive Infrastructure Forum. This year’s event will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre starting from June 9 to 10.

The two-day event and exhibition is expected to attract the attendance of government officials, prominent African infrastructure experts and business leaders to accelerate development in the infrastructural sector with discussions centered at large-scale cross-border infrastructure, regional integration and the resultant unlocking of Africa’s industrialization potential, among other items on the agenda list.

South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to give the first day’s keynote speech, followed by African Union Commission chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and then the African Development Bank (AfDB) president Akinwumi Adesina.

Other panalists and speakers for the conference include the Africa Project Access Mnaging Director Paul Runge, the Department of Trade and Industry chief director for African industrial development Nigel Gywnne-Evans; Dr Michele Ruiters, the African specialist at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) ; and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (Nepad) Agency CEO’s office senior energy adviser Professor Mosad Elmissiry.

In addition, Herbert Smith Freehills partner Peter Leon, Norton Rose Fulbright director Muzi Kubeka and AfDB special envoy on gender Geraldine Joslyn Fraser-Moleketi are also expected to speak at the conference.
