Westonaria, Gauteng, April 28, 2017: Nunnovation Africa Foundation (NAF) in partnership with Sibanye Gold PTY (Ltd) and Department of Small Business Development kicked-off the Construction Input Incubator Programme on the 24th April and the candidates are getting ready to officially start with their training.

“We are proud to have reached this stage after two years of planning,” said Ngwako Ramohlale, CEO of Nunnovation Africa Foundation. “Nunnovation is changing lives yet again, now developing manufacturers in the construction space to compete in the industry,” she concluded.

The Construction Input Incubator is the first of its kind, aimed at developing and supporting targeted entrepreneurs in the construction input manufacturing sector from the Rand West communities in Gauteng.

The final candidates selected to be on the programme went through their induction at the training facility and are very excited about the 18-month journey ahead as training starts in the week.

Together with Sibanye Gold, NAF welcomed all successful candidates, taking them through the planned schedule of the programme for the next eighteen months. “There are several barriers for Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) that we aim to tackle those in the construction industry,” said Duduzile from Sibanye Gold.

“We are eager to do so through this construction input incubation programme, where we’ll also allocate markets for the chosen SMMEs, assisting them to enter the market.”
The programme funders – Sibanye Gold PTY (Ltd) and Department of Small Business Development – have their sights set on boosting the local economy of Westonaria and surrounding areas through the manufacturing of specialised, technology driven products.

“Nunnovation is proud to bring about Radical Economic Development, creating industrialists in the Construction Sector,” says Khathu Mashau, Executive Chairman of Nunnovation Africa Foundation.

The Construction Input Incubator is the next generation industrial incubator that combines theoretical and practical training together with market penetration guidance for entrepreneurs for a period of eighteen months. Training and support will be offered in the following streams:

1. Cement products
2. Paint products
3. Ceramic products
4. Carpentry products
5. Rainwater products

The Induction Phase of the programme is a milestone event for the incubator and all the organisations involved, marking the beginning of great opportunities for all entrepreneurs involved.

The official launch of the Construction Input Incubator will take place in May, 2017, where all relevant members and partners from various organisations will be in attendance.
