ADvTECH, South African firm expands footprint to East Africa

ADvTECH group which is Africa’s leading private international education provider is expanding its footprint to East Africa. They plan to open a new school in Nairobi, Kenya.

The company has acquired land in Nairobi’s upcoming 5,000 acre special economic zone known as Tatu City. It plans to set up a school under its Crawford International Schools brand.

The school will cater for kindergarten to A-level pupils, and will include boarding facilities for senior students. It will additionally be part of a modern mega city with facilities to house over 150,000 people.

Moreover, the mega city will accommodate shopping complexes, offices, sports, schools and health amenities. This will be one of Africa’s biggest real estate developments.

The move is part of the company’s Africa expansion strategy. It further consolidates its position as the largest private education provider on the continent. It has institutions ranging from nursery schools to private universities.

Expanding its footprint to East Africa

ADvTECH is rapidly growing its African footprint, both in the private school and private university sectors across Africa, and is delighted to find a home at Tatu City,” head of International Development, Jaco Lotz said.

With elite schools in South Africa and Botswana, the company will open a school targeting the rich in Nairobi’s political, business and diplomatic circles, is its first venture into Kenya.

It has 90 schools with campuses under seven brands including Capsicum Culinary Studio, Varsity College, Rosebank College and ADvTECH Academies

Further to that, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed firm also owns nine tertiary education brands, including the University of Africa, which among others offers degree programs through open, distance and e-Learning mode, to students from different countries in Africa.
