The ‘Academic hour for wind power’ has arrived with the 2nd Annual WindAc-Africa Conference! Windac-Africa will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on 14&15 November 2017.

Hosted by the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA), in proud partnership with the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC)  this year’s conference theme is: ‘ Wind Power Without Boarders”.

SAWEA strives to realise wind power investment in South Africa. Such investment recognises the abundant resource availability and growing private sector contribution to socio-economic growth, and seeks to build on all prospects for wind power.

Aim of Windac Africa

WindAc-Africa is establishing itself as the premier international academic conference on the continent. The aim of the conference is to facilitate the transfer of lessons learned in South Africa, within the region and globally. With due consideration for boundary conditions, the potential for mutual knowledge sharing beyond geographical borders is immense.

The conference caters for 200 global participant delegates.  In advocating for collaboration between reserachers and business, 50 student from leading energy programmes at South African Universities will also participate.

Conference discussions will focus on across geographical borders and  envisioning a future for wind power . It will also take into account opportunities for and most effective sharing of innovation.

Participants will therefore benefit from  presentations of new knowledge covering the entire wind value chain and spanning technical, socio-economic, policy and environmental aspects. Uniquely, this platform also affords researchers the opportunity to engage with both their peers across discliplines and business executives looking for game-changer technological advances.
