Panasonic launches W1 Series switches and sockets for the Kenyan market

W1 series switches are uniquely designed to complement modern Kenyan homes

Panasonic Homes & Living, has unveiled the all new high-quality BS Type wiring devices ‘W1 Series’ switches and sockets for the Kenyan market. The W1 Series switches and sockets, which complement the brand’s comprehensive range of innovative solutions for the construction segment, are uniquely designed for commercial and residential use.

The event, attended by senior management representatives from PMMAF, also included a product orientation on the full W1 Series switches and sockets.

Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, the Japanese electronics giant has expansions and new product launches as key strategies for this year to strengthen their position in the Middle East and Africa market as a leader in the development of diverse electronics technologies and solutions for both B2B and B2C segments.

Based on industry reports, Kenya’s construction industry has been growing steadily the past years at a rapid pace and making a substantial contribution to the country’s strong GDP growth figures.  The country, which serves as a gateway to the lucrative regional East African market, has an expanding population and rising income, thus the increasing public works projects and rising demand for mixed-use and residential developments. Given these trends, Panasonic, with its industry-leading solutions, is expected to gain a stronger foothold in the Kenyan construction market.

Speaking at the launch held at Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi, Hiroyoshi Suga, Panasonic Eco Solutions Business Division Director of Sales for the ISAMEA (India, South Asia, Middle East and Africa) Region, said, “With the addition of the W1 Series switches and sockets to our portfolio, we have taken another important step towards advanced electrical control solutions ideal for modern Kenyan homes.  These high-quality switches and sockets are versatile and can be installed on any surface with ease.  They are especially designed with a smooth finish so that they sleekly blend with any wall without compromise at all on the safety of the users.”

The W1 Series switches and sockets boast optimum functionality as the contemporary slim design comes with a screw cap for the installation hole to perfectly fit flush within the wall.  The smooth surface design, meanwhile, makes switching on and off easy and even pleasant.

The WI Series of switches incorporate better design, with increases safety features and comes with Panasonic’s assurance of a quality product. Furthermore, these switches are flame retardant and help prevent electrical accidents.
