Mantrac has invested US$40m to construct Caterpillar Engine Centre in Ghana, Emad Adeeb, Mantrac Ghana Managing Director has announced.
Mr Adeeb made the project announcement during the Second CAT Road Construction Solutions Seminar on the theme: “Complete Solutions.” He further revealed that the project is expected to be completed by end of this year.
The seminar had been organized by Mantrac Ghana. The company is the sole authorized dealer for Caterpillar Products in Ghana with endorsement from Road Contractors Association of Ghana and the Progressive Contractors Association. The two institutions are the two major bodies in the industry. Additionally, the seminar brought together the road construction industry stakeholders.
According to Emad Adeeb, Mantrac Ghana Managing Director, the investment is expected to complement the company’s position as a major player in the mining, gas and oil sectors. “As marketing leaders,” said Emad Adeeb. “We cannot sit and fold our arms when we have all the expertise to support contractors, hence the seminar,” he added.
The engine centre project will be constructed on a 26 acre of land out of which 10,000m2 will be reserved for repair Centre. The project plan also includes a warehouse which will be built on 5,000m2.
