A three story medical office facility dubbed Medical Center at Wellen Park will soon go up in Sarasota County, Florida. The locally based CASTO Healthcare Real Estate, will develop and manage the 75,000 square foot medical office facility. However, the project is only part of the larger Wellen Park development.
The Wellen Park is a planned community in Sarasota County which is currently under construction on an 11,000 acre property. It spans across the neighbourhoods of West Villages, Downtown Wellen and Playmore. Upon completion Wellen Park will feature up to 22,000 homes and over 60,000 residents.

Wellen Park’s President, Rick Severance, was pleased with the Medical Center project within the community. He said having quality healthcare close to home is essential for good health and wellness of residents at Wellen Park community. Furthermore, Severance mentioned that the new facility would also provide more options for patients. Especially those who are in-office or at a nearby local hospital with minimal travel time.
Time line for the Medical Center at Wellen Park project
The developer expects construction on the Medical Center at Wellen Park project to commence by late 2023. The build time will take between 12 to 18 months, while the project’s opening date is set for early or mid-2025.
The Medical Center project will be built just east of the River Road and U.S. 41 intersection. The building will feature office spaces with sizes ranging between 1,500 square feet and 25,000 square feet. Doctors, and specialists will make use of these offices. Additionally, custom spaces will also be included for in-office procedures and outpatient services. The property will provide 409 dedicated parking spaces as well.
CASTO’s executive V.P, Aaron Ruben also said the Wellen Park was a great location for medical professionals. Ruben described the Medical Center at Wellen Park as an advanced cutting-edge facility dedicated solely for healthcare professionals. Therefore, he said the office space would be tailored to meet the needs of their health practice.
