Construction of US $198m ‘O West’ project in Egypt is set to begin in October. This is according to Orascom Development, the project’s developer.
The company had in June last year announced that is had reached a settlement agreement with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) to build a replica of El Gouna based on a revenue-sharing system, as part of a settlement agreement.
‘O West’ project
The ‘O West’ development will be located in 6 of October City, West Cairo. It will sit on a 4.2 million square meters area with direct access to major highways and roads.  The development will be a mix of various facilities  such as lavish residences, leisure and entertainment facilities, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, commercial areas and a business area.
The development will feature three different types of villas ranging from 210 meters to 310 meters BUA and with different garden sizes and will offer luxurious spacious villas, townhouses twin houses, duplexes and apartments. The twin houses and townhouses will have a average BUAs of 250 meters and 200 meters respectively.
Orascom revealed that both the first and second phases of the project were sold completely, while the third phase is scheduled to be launched this month. The developers further added that delivery of the 950 residential units is scheduled to begin four years after the start of construction.
“Once complete, ‘O West’ will serve as a beacon of integrated living which will offer a complete sensory experience,” said Orascom Development in a statement.
