New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) has announced plans to construct new projects in Egypt at a cost of EGP 9bn.

Nuca disclosed that the plans to construct new projects in Egypt which will be 550 in number, is informed by the need to boost the image of the new city in the country.

According to the Authority the projects which are expected to boost the new city will kick off immediately as the new city construction programmes have already kicked off.

NUCA’s Vice President Kamal Fahmy said there are most important projects that have already new assigned to various companies in Egypt which includes construction of new housing units that are affordable and which are capable of fitting the low income earners in the country.

The projects include an assignment of 24 buildings in Obour City and 22 buildings covering 440 housing units, Fahmy added. The latter project comes as part of the approval given to 7,140 units offered in the 10th of Ramadan City’s third phase of the social housing project.

Fahmy also added that the ten building will be constructed at the Ebni Betak social housing project in 6th of October City, four of which are already currently under construction. These 10 buildings form part of the 43 social housing buildings that will be constructed in 6th of October City.

The authority have also assigned six buildings that will include 144 housing units in the social housing project in New Borg Al-Arab area outside Alexandria.
