This project came following the devolution strategy and it is part of the Bindura South constituency’s efforts of decentralizing excellent health care services to its citizens. Speaking on the project, Cde Matangira stated that they got US$ 2M in constituency devolution funding, which would be utilized to purchase roofing material for all four clinics.

The Bindura South constituency National Assembly member said that three out of the fours clinics should be fully complete and operational by the end of this year.

Expectations for the four clinics in Bindura South

Once operation the clinics, the development of which began back in 2020, would reduce the need for people to travel large distances in quest of health care. They would also alleviate the difficulties that many communities encounter when trekking considerable distances to seek health care services.

Noteworthy, this project is inconsistent with the Second Republic’s objective, led by President Mnangagwa, to embark on huge infrastructure development and social investment program to convert Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income nation by 2030.

The provision of critical social services and the construction of world-class infrastructure have been designated as major facilitators of sustainable socio-economic growth under the NDS1.
