Park Inn Hotel by Carlson Rezidor who also run the Radisson Blu is set to open its second outlet in February next year; this is according to a statement by the company.
The hotel which was meant to start business in 2013 has delayed in opening due to several setbacks in the finishing phases of construction and building delays.
Ronal and Rupen Samani who are the owners of the upcoming project through their firm AMS Properties Ltd said that the hotel aims at tapping mid-market business travellers and corporate events in Nairobi, East Africa’s commercial hub.
The new 140-key Park Inn hotel is located in Nairobi along Woodvale Grove in Westlands, it is a four-star hotel that deepens Carlson Rezidor’s presence in Nairobi where the company already runs the high-end focused Radisson Blu which opened mid last year with yet another one set to be inaugurated near the Nairobi Arboretum scheduled to open in 2018.
Park Inn Hotel comprises of five meeting rooms, gym, roof top pool bar, swimming pool, and underground parking. The brand is banking on its locality in Westlands region which is regarded as a focal point for expatriates and proximity to the United Nations diplomatic district of Gigiri, to capture business travellers, meetings, conferences and exhibitions.
Carlson Rezidor first came in Africa in 2000 and opened its first Radisson Blu in Cape Town South Africa, the firm currently has a portfolio of 35 hotels across 19 countries in Africa, with a worldwide footprint of a whooping 1,400 hotels under its brands including Radisson, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED Park Inn, Country Inns, Park Plaza, Quorvus Collection and Hotel Missoni.
“Today, Africa is our major growth market,” said Wolfgang Neumann, Rezidor’s President and Chief Executive.
In Nairobi other upcoming hotels include; Pullman, Hilton Garden Inn, Ramada, Mövenpick Hotel, Four Points by Sheraton, JW Marriott, Sarovar’s Lazizi Premiere airport hotel, City Lodge at the upcoming Two Rivers mall, and Wyndham Amboseli Golf Resort and Spa.
