Plans are currently underway for the implementation of a 27-unit housing development dubbed Manzano Vista in Rio Communities, New Mexico. The project is the first of its kind since the town’s incorporation almost a decade ago.
Pecos Homes is building this residential apartment as part of a 14-lot property near the golf course. This renowned developer, associated with about a dozen properties around Nancy Boulevard, intends to focus on the project’s affordability.
Despite the affordability, Manzano Vista provides several unique attractions and sites. The apartment, surrounded by a golf course, provides access to endless hiking trails and lush wildlife habitat. Residents will also have access to several amenities in Rio Communities, such as restaurants, museums, and wineries.
Some of the 27 units are expected to be completed by this winter.
Features of the 27-unit Manzano Vista project
Manzano Vista homes are designed to be customizable, offering units between the price ranges of $169,900 to $419,900. In addition, future tenants can choose between two-, or three-and four-bedroom units. Two-car garages are also provided for all unit types. Other amenities provided for each unit include walk-in pantries, 9-foot ceilings, a covered terrace as well as flexible floor plans. All homes will have greenery on their front lawns.

Martin Moore, the Rio Communities Town Manager, said Pecos Homes was attracted to the region by a number of factors. One major draw was the need for workforce housing in the region. Especially with the work opportunities coming from Facebook and Amazon in Los Lunas. Including the recent announcement of an aluminum mill development, which could bring hundreds of jobs.
Pecos Homes’ President, Garth Tallman also mentioned that Rio Communities had been a well-kept secret for nearly a decade. He said once people see the new Manzano Vista homes, the community wouldn’t stay a secret for long.
Moore applauded the city officials for their efforts in repairing the roads and improving compliance from the residents. Other improvements also included replacing the lights along Highway 47 and Highway 304. He noted all these improvements served in attracting not only Pecos Homes, but other developers as well
