Construction of the Doosan Bobcat Manufacturing Facility is in progress and the global compact equipment manufacturing company will be investing $70 million to develop the facility into its largest manufacturing campus in Statesville, North Carolina. The company recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to kickstart the construction of the new 600,000-sq. ft. manufacturing, warehouse and distribution facility, which will be built in addition to the current office and manufacturing complex in Statesville. 

This new Doosan Bobcat Manufacturing Facility, will consist of allotted spaces for the development of manufacturing and warehousing; research and development; automated paint line; parts control and storage; shipping and receiving docks; open air space for product testing and quality control; additional parking; shipping and delivery entrance; and finished goods inventory storage. The building is also designed to provide abundant natural daylight, through the use of high exterior windows.

After the expansion, the Doosan Bobcat Manufacturing Facility will double the facility’s coverage area by upto 1.2 million sq. ft. and add 62 acres to the current 92-acre campus, transforming it into the company’s largest manufacturing campus worldwide. The team of designers for this project includes Shultz + Associates Architects from Fargo, ND and Omega Construction as the construction manager, with its expected time of completion in fall 2022.

North Carolina’s Labor Commissioner, Josh Dobson, spoke on the benefits of this investment to the state in terms of  additional employment opportunities, economic growth and community involvement in Iredell County and the surrounding area. He also thanked Doosan Bobcat for their continued support to the state and for providing a conducive and healthy working environment and promising career opportunities to North Carolinians.

Mayor of Statesville, Costi Kutteh also commended the Doosan Bobcat workforce and acknowledged the support and partnership offered by the company through various charitable initiatives and educational schemes in the community over the years.

Kutteh said, “Doosan Bobcat has been a strong partner, and we appreciate their believing in Statesville, providing hundreds of jobs to our community and continuing to invest in our residents and future.”
