The Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure Housing, Urban Development and public Works has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Nairobi Metropolitan Service Improvement Project (NaMSIP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for CONSTRUCTION OF NGONG MARKET IN KAJIADO COUNTY.
The Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for CONSTRUCTION OF NGONG MARKET IN KAJIADO
Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and NonConsulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants, January 2011 revised July 2014 (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Principal Secretary, State Department for Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, Cianda House, Koinange Street, 5thFloor, Room 515, P.O. Box 34477 – 00100, Nairobi, Kenya and inspect the bidding documents during office hours 09:00 to 17:00 hours during working days (Monday to Friday).
Only experienced Building Contractors who are registered with NCA Category 1 with the current registration license are eligible to bid.
The Building Contractor shall, before signing of the contract, provide a registered Electrical Contractor with ERC Class A-1 or B license and minimum NCA Category 3, a registered Plumbing Contractor with minimum NCA Category 3, a registered Lifts Contractor minimum ERC A-2 and minimum NCA Category 3 and a registered Borehole Contractor with minimum NCA Category 5 all with current registration licenses whom they shall engage as their domestic subcontractors.
There will be a pretender site visit and interested bidders. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the Principal Secretary, State Department of Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, Cianda House, Koinange Street, 5th Floor, Room 515 and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KShs.1,000.00 per set (or equivalent in a convertible currency). The method of payment will be cash or banker’s cheque from a reputable bank in Kenya.
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 12:00 hours East Africa time on Friday, 3rd August, 2018 to the Tender Box located at 6th Floor, Ardhi House, First Ngong Avenue, Nairobi, Kenya. The packages should be clearly marked “CONSTRUCTION OF NGONG MARKET IN KAJIADO COUNTY, Contract No. NCB/MoTIH&UD/SDfHUD&PW/DoU&MED/NaMSIP/WKS-02/2018-2019”.
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below at 12:05 hours East Africa time on Friday, 3rd August, 2018.
All bids must be accompanied by a Bank Bid Security as follows: Kshs 10,000,000.00 (Kenya Shillings Ten Million) from a reputable bank or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency.
