Tender Name: CONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN CROSSING FACILITIES ACROSS THE THIKA SUPERHIGHWAY (A2S) AT WITEITHIE AND MANGU ROAD)

1 The Kenya National Highways Authority invites Sealed Bids from firms for Construction of Pedestrian Crossing Facilities across the Thika Superhighway (A2s) at Witeithie and Mangu Road.

2 Due to the highly specialized nature of the Works, this bid is restricted to NCA 1 Contractors registered in the Country.
The following must be submitted together with the tenders:-
a) Submit a written power of attorney authorizing the signatory of the bid to commit the bidder; and
b) Update any information submitted with their bids and update in any case the information indicated in the schedules and continue to meet the minimum threshold criteria set out in the bid documents.

As a minimum, bidders shall provide the following information:
c) Evidence of access to lines of credit and availability of other financial resources
d) Financial predictions for the current year and the two subsequent years, including the effect of known commitments
e) Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
f) Current work commitments
g) Current litigation information
h) Availability of critical equipment
i) Availability of key technical personnel
j) Similar work experience
k) History of non performing contracts
l) Details of Sub-Contractors, if any
m) Bidders shall also submit proposals of work methods and schedule in sufficient detail to demonstrate the adequacy of the bidders‟ proposals to meet the technical specifications and the completion time as referred to on Conditions of Tender and Instructions to Bidders.
n) The bid document to be submitted MUST be sequentially serialized.

3 Prices quoted should be net inclusive of all taxes and delivery costs, must be expressed in Kenya shillings and shall remain valid for a period of 120 days from the closing date of the tender.

4 A complete set of bidding documents may be obtained free of charge from the Kenya
National Highways website – www.kenha.co.ke or the Government of Kenya Supplier Portal – www.supplier.treasury.go.ke or purchased from the above address by interested bidders on submission of a written application and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KShs. 1,000.00 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only) in form of a banker’s cheque payable to: Kenya National Highways Authority.

5 A Mandatory pre-bid site visit shall be conducted by the Employer and shall be organized on 29th June, 2017 at 10.00am starting at the Witeithie bridge site.

6 The bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Kshs. 5,000,000.00 (Kenya shillings five million only) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency.

9 Electronic bidding will NOT be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected .Opening of the Bids will take place immediately thereafter at the KeNHA Boardroom, 3rd Floor Blue Shield Towers in the presence of bidder’s representatives who choose to attend.
