Egypt: bidders invited for wind farm project In Egypt, the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) has received a loan from the European Investment Bank – EIB, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and KfW towards the cost of the Wind Farm Gulf of Suez 1 project. This international invitation for prequalification relates to the turnkey contract for the Wind Farm Gulf of Suez 1. The applicable procurement rules for this tender process follows Egyptian Law and the ‘Guidelines for Procurement of Goods, Works and Associated Services in Financial Cooperation with Partner Countries’ of KfW. Tender information: Wind Farm project This contract, which is expected to commence in the beginning of 2018 with a construction period of 32 months up to completion plus three year warranty and service period, will include the following works: Design, delivery, construction and commissioning of a wind farm with a minimum total capacity of 200MW with a possible extension to 250MW including spare parts and consumables for three years plus refilling at the end of this three years period. Design, delivery and construction of necessary infrastructure at the site such as roads, MV electrical cable network, SCADA) including three years warranty. Design and construction of service buildings. Warranty and servicing of the wind farm including spare parts and consumables management for a three year period.
