Dr Parker notes that greater market entry by Asian products not always of appropriate quality.
He, however, says that there will be greater use of renewable products and in particular solar PV in Africa due the current growth and the demand for power and energy to support economic growth and development. Solar power offers a renewable and sustainable solution to the continent’s energy needs.
Dr Parker adds that there is need for energy efficiency and reduction of the energy footprint through the use of more energy efficient devises such as LED lighting, induction lighting, variable speed motor drives and control and motion sensing and control.
