The Kenyan cabinet has approved the Budget Estimates for Financial Year 2014/2015. According to the Budget, Sh8 billion (US$ 92 million) has been allocated to the Energy sector to help in reduction in cost of power and new connections. They emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries from the allocated financial statement.

According to a President Strategic Communication Unit press release, the major priorities include energy transformation programmes in power generation, transmission, power supply, drastic reduction in cost of power and new connections.

The Cabinet has so far approved several budgets including the youth empowerment and employment creations which will see the Kenyan citizens benefit in an all round manner.
