Four elementary schools are set to be constructed in Sanniquellie Administrative District after the local authority of Nimba County signed a contract for the project with four construction companies.

The main companies that were tasked with this project are Jireh Construction Enterprise Incorporated, Liberia Reconstruction Group Incorporated, Textual Accuracy Construction and Consultancy and Origin Construction Company. Construction of the elementary schools will be undertaken in Kinnon, Zolowee, Gehwee and Gbonnie towns.

Units for the projects will have 6 classrooms, a teachers’ lounge, principal’s office and a special toilet for use by the staff and others.

Acting project management committee chairman for the county Eddie Z. Tenwah noted that the project will cost US$166,313.10m, with completion of the four schools set to be in three months according to the agreement in the contract.

The Gehwee project is funded by BHP Billiton with 20 percent allocation, while Zolowee, Kinnon and Gbonie projects will be funded by Arcelor Mittal Social Development Fund at 20 percent allocation each.

The contract agreement was signed by Superintendent Fong G. Zuagele on behalf of the county administration, noting that all contracts satisfied the Public Procurement Concessions Commission (PPCC) and will all be monitored closely.
