The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professionals (SACPCMP) is set to host its third annual Conference.
The third annual conference will take off on the 13-15th of October 2015 at Emperor’s Palace, Johannesburg.
Under the theme “Towards growth, development and transformation in the Project and Construction Management Professions”, the conference is a pre-eminent learning gathering aimed at creating a collaborative and working partnerships for the development and maintenance of infrastructure in South Africa.
The Conference will promote the role of registered professionals in the roll out of infrastructure development projects. This forum will offer all participants the opportunity to discuss, debate, exchange ideas and experiences in critical areas affecting the Projection and Construction Management Sector among others.
It will be preceded by Master Classes in areas of Infrastructure Development Management System (IDMS), Ask the Experts on Contracts Comparison, and on Delay, Disruption and Extension of Time.
This year’s Conference will see private sector property development companies being given an opportunity to present, their infrastructure project pipelines at the conference. This will give professionals and contractors an overview of the short and medium term private sector infrastructure project pipeline.
Another important feature will be focused sessions on financing infrastructure development and construction procurement. There is also an introduction of the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Corridors which will showcase CSI projects in the construction industry and how they contribute towards national imperatives.
SACPCMP has successfully hosted two annual conferences, in 2013 and 2014. This year’s conference is meant to attract stakeholders from government, state entities, built environment professionals, investors professional bodies, voluntary associations, academia to mention but a few.
The South African Construction industry is still unique in Africa by virtue of having developed internal capacity to undertake and deliver most of its infrastructure projects without the need of help from other countries.
The 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup Infrastructure Build and subsequent infrastructure development, to date, is proof of the construction industry’s skill, competence and capabilities to execute major projects.
