Premier international exhibitors DMG events to stage Coatings for Africa in 2018

DMG events, leading international exhibitions organizers in Middle East, Asia & Africa, will in June next year stage Coatings for Africa 2018, the largest event for its industry on the continent yet.

Set to be the longest-running coatings event in Africa, Coatings Africa will be jointly presented by the SA Paint Manufacturing Association (SAPMA) and the Oil and Color Chemists Association (OCCA). The major trade exhibition will boost DMG events’ growing coatings industry portfolio, which is already inclusive of six exhibitions held across the Middle East and Asia.

In terms of volume, Africa manufactures 28% of the world’s coatings, with South Africa being the continent’s largest producer. Whereas SAPMA members produce more than 90% of all paint and coatings manufactured in South Africa, many of the individual chemists and technologists who will be present at the event are OCCA members.

OCCA is an international organization with headquarters in the UK and is active across the world.

Coatings for Africa 2018 – to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre from May 29 to 31 next year is projected attract senior executives and technologists from the paints and coatings industry all over the world to view the industry’s latest products, technologies and services.

Representatives will also be able to participate in a developing education program that will include a three-day conference and plus interactive zones for workshops and live product demonstrations.

Executive director of SAPMA, Deryck Spence, speaking on behalf of SAPMA and OCCA, explained the partnership as having a shared vision of uplifting Coatings for Africa as the industry’s flagship show on the African continent as well as the expansion of the coatings industry expertise in South Africa.
