Victron Energy was founded in 1975 by Reinout Vader. Over the last 39 years, Victron Energy has grown from a small, one-office technology company to an international enterprise with nearly 1000 different products sold worldwide.

The company is driven by a concentration on our core activities: Product Development, Marketing & Sales and Customer Support. Other activities are outsourced according to practicality and cost effectiveness.

Victron Energy is always aiming to marry technology to customer need. Due to its experience Victron Energy is able to look at the broad picture — as well as the details. Because the company designs new system solutions and all parts of the system, they can control quality and performance at every step.

Key in Victron Energy’s proposition is providing very fast service and repair, excellent product quality and having products available from stock. All sales people have technical backgrounds just like the distributors. That foundation of knowledge and experience is their customers’ assurance that Victron Energy will be fully capable of helping them with any system or installation issue and provide first-line repair assistance. In the rare instance that a product must be returned to Victron Energy for repair, it is usually shipped back to the customer within two working days.

The extensive product range evolved around battery based storage. These products play key roles in land-based off-grid energy systems, in industrial settings, but also in overland transportation, commercial and recreational boating.

According to the company, there is an increasing demand for off-grid systems. This could be because of an unreliable grid, or because the location is that remote that there is no grid available at all. People can choose a solar system that meets their demand for energy. If there are more sources available, like a generator set, these could support the solar system.

Worldwide, themes like renewable energy and sustainability are hot. Governments and interest groups are all on their own local level defining rules and regulations, making it hard to determine what energy source are most profitable. Many people are also still unaware of the possibilities they have when it comes to back-up systems, solar power and energy storage.
