Mine Manager David Mwanza emphasized their objective to uplift marginalized communities through income-generating projects and access to clean water.

Bikita Minerals, a lithium mining company owned by Sinomine Resource Group, is dedicated to improving clean water accessibility in Masvingo province. The mine, committed to expanding access to basic necessities, is now focused on enhancing water access, especially in rural villages.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Bikita Minerals upholds the belief that “water is life.” Their aim is to reduce the distance to water sources, particularly in rural areas, to less than a kilometer. This approach enables families to engage in green gardening, improve nutrition, and prevent disease outbreaks.

Villagers in Bikita West and Masvingo expressed their excitement and praised the company for this kind gesture. Villagers stated that the positive changes brought about by the new owners, Sinomine, in just two years, surpassed the cumulative efforts of all previous owners.
