Construction of a new airway commerce center at Reno-Tahoe International Airport has begun. The center will reportedly be a hub for employment featuring offices, and distribution centers for storage, light manufacturing, and showrooms.
It will be located just south of Reno-Tahoe International Airport at the former Home Gardens. This is a distinct site immediately south of South McCarran Boulevard. Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority’s CEO, Daren Griffin cited neighborhood regeneration as a major factor in supporting the project.
The controversy surrounding the region surrounding Reno-Tahoe Airport and its impact on the proposed project
Noteworthy, the region surrounding the airport has been the subject of controversy. These include the city’s 2005 decision to abandon numerous roadways. Especially on Rewana Farms to the west of the airport as a part of plans to expand Reno-Tahoe International.

However, according to Tolles Development, Rewana Farms, which is situated north of Peckham Lane, has nothing to do with the airway commerce center. The location according to the developer was chosen to facilitate smart urban growth.
“The opportunity to improve safety near the airport is just one of the many advantages of this project. The primary objective of the FAA and airports is to provide the safest and most effective air space possible.
We are thrilled to not only achieve this through the airway commerce center project but also to support local businesses and create an updated space for individuals who live and work in Reno-Tahoe,” said Griffin in a statement.
