Construction of The Legacy in Michigan has commenced. The two-building multifamily property is being developed by Landmark Properties in downtown Ann Arbor.

One of the buildings will be a 19-story high-rise, which upon completion will become the city’s second-tallest  residential building. The second building on the other hand will be a mid-rise structure. It is intended to house restrooms for the Michigan Theater.

The location of both buildings is adjacent to the Michigan Theater, a significantly historic building in the city.

Features and amenities of The Legacy in Michigan

The Legacy’s high-rise tower features 521 beds spread across 253 apartments and all units will be well furnished  with high-quality finishes. Out of the 253 apartments, 19 will be set aside as affordable apartments for qualifying households. Residents will also have options available in studios through five-bedroom configurations.

Additionally, the building’s design includes a rooftop pool deck overlooking the campus and downtown Ann Arbor.

The project team

Landmark  formed a partnership with  Cerca Trova, and has been collaborating with the  real estate investment company on The Legacy project.

Through this Joint Venture, a student housing community will be built within walking distance of the University of Michigan campus. Landmark’s CEO, Wes Rogers, said this location would be appealing not for only students, but also professionals wanting to reside downtown.

The property is expected to be ready for occupancy by August 2024.
