Qatar has officially completed the Hamad International Airport Expansion project which aims to transform the airport into a vital destination. The expansion project will further strengthen the airport’s ambitions alongside its status, as the best airport in the world.

Owing to the project, the airport strives to offer a seamless travel experience in addition to enriching the passenger experience. 

Features and amenities of the Hamad International Airport 

The airport features world-class services ranging from endless F&B options that comprise more than 65 retail as well as dining outlets, spread across its three levels. As a result of the expansion, the Food and Beverage options will include well over 20 restaurants as well as cafes. The outlets will offer delicious global and local cuisines for the ultimate and most elegant dining experience.

As a part of the overall expansion, the project also launched the second airport hotel within its transfer area. The Oryx Garden Hotel’s location is in the North plaza and offers rooms that range from twin to king-size. Additionally, the 100-room hotel diligently places focus on sustainability, thus, the suites are moments away from the boarding gates.

Furthermore, the expansion included the upgrading of the facilities, therefore creating a smoother and more ideal traveling experience and destination for passengers. 

The newly expanded airport to serve 58 million passengers annually

The Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways spoke about the project. Akbar Al Baker said the opening of the newly expanded terminal will serve as a significant connection to the growing number of travelers from and to, all corners of the world.

The Chief Operating Officer of the Hamad International Airport also spoke about the project. Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer said that their growth plan will observe the welcoming of well up to 58 million passengers annually.
