A sizable apartment complex is expected to be built not far from the Del Amo Fashion Center by Legacy Partners, a Bay Area real estate development company. The building will go up at the northeastern corner of Carson Street and Del Amo Circle West. It will take the place of a 2.8-acre parking lot that serves an adjacent office complex.

The development will be a five-storey structure with 200 studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments. Additionally, there will be 440 parking spaces in a six-level garage. The project is being designed by AO and MJS Landscape Architecture, and it will have a modern, low-rise building with an L-shaped footprint.

An insight into the proposed 200-apartment complex at Del Amo Fashion Center

The apartments would encircle the parking garage, obstructing views of it from Del Amo Circle to the west and Carson Street to the south. According to the plans, the new garage would include a rooftop pool and amenity deck.

Furthermore, the housing complex’s street-level courtyards would also have additional open space. The ground floor of the structure is also suggested to have a co-working space.

The apartment building is anticipated to be constructed over a roughly 28-month period. It will begin in August 2023 and end in December 2025. The City of Torrance must approve a conditional use permit, a development permit, and other permissions before that schedule may be implemented.

Legacy Partners, based in Foster City, has built homes near the Metro L Line in Monrovia. In addition, it has completed a 226-unit apartment building recently in Santa Ana. There are only a few new multifamily residential complexes planned for Torrance. These include the 39-unit building that was just completed close to Old Town Torrance.
