Plans unveiled for phase two of the Queensgate Square development in Birmingham

The plans for phase two of the £52 million Queensgate Square development have been put forward. The project will add 159 luxury apartments on Suffolk Street Queensway.  Consequently, the new project will change a 1950s office building and a derelict car park opposite The Mailbox in Birmingham into two 15-story and 12-story buildings.

The only difference between luxury apartments and affordable apartments will be the level of specification when you walk through the door. The two new residential blocks will be built around a communal garden and square. They will be shared with Queensgate House residents, representing phase one of Queensgate Square.

The Queensgate Square aspirational apartments

The Riverlow Group is the London-based developer behind the Queensgate Square scheme. It was designed by D5 Architects. The project is the first for the developer in the Midlands.

“Despite all of the recent economic turbulence, the investors, wherever they are in the world, all know that Birmingham remains rich with investment opportunities. We speak with them on a regular basis,” says Max Reisner, spokesman for The Riverlow Group.

“Aspirational apartments, particularly for rent, are always in high demand.” We know we’re doing it right because we’d love to live in our developments. That level of comfort is essential when your next-door neighbor is Birmingham’s Bond Street, i.e. The Mailbox.”

All apartments will have high-end kitchens and bathrooms. Additionally, penthouses will have specially designed live-work spaces. Outside the development, a hotel-style covered foyer will be available for drop-off and pick-up. It will have direct access from Suffolk Street Queensway.

This foyer will lead into a furnished lobby and post office. This is as well as a walk into the communal garden and the new building’s rear entrance. Phase one is already under construction. It will see an eight-story 1950s office building remodeled into 68 boutique apartments.

Thus, they will consist of studios, and one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The lodging will be available for rent by the mid of 2024.   Subject to approval, work on the second phase will start around 2024.
