Sheffield Hallam University plans to build a new campus in northwest London, adding to the £8 billion Brent Cross Town development. The University has agreed to purchase the first commercial building at Brent Cross Town.

The project recently received full planning approval according to which it will occupy half of the planned 240,000-square-foot building. The building will be constructed with a low-carbon hybrid timber and concrete structure. The first phase of the campus is set to open in 2025/26.

Finally, Hallam intends to expand further, with a goal of accommodating up to 5,000 students by 2030. Related Argent and Barnet Council are bringing forward a 3 million square foot commercial district. It will comprise academic institutions, major corporations, global innovators, start-ups, and scale-ups in Brent Cross Town.

Projects planned at Brent Cross Town

Just last month, Invesco Real Estate, on behalf of a US separate account client, agreed to a £600 million development deal. The agreement would lead to four buildings with 800 sale and build-to-rent homes overlooking the newly opened Claremont Park.

Meanwhile, Fusion Students also agreed to a £72 million contract with Henry Construction. They will construct a 662-student room in a dedicated new building. The upcoming Brent Cross West station and several new public squares are also contributing to the significant momentum.
