renovation-of-emirs-palaceThe chairman,Kaiama local government of Kwara State Alhaji Abubakar Sidiq Ahmad yesterday, presented cheques worth N288,751,362.00 for the construction of the new emir’s palace and seven other human needs project for the development of the area.

Presenting the cheques, the chairman said the presentation was a epoch making event meant for the yearning and aspiration of the people in providing infrastructures aimed at enhancing standard of the Kaiama. This, he said, cannot be compromised.

“During our campaigns, we promised to extend the dividends of democracy to the door steps of everybody. Today I wish to humbly present cheques to various contractors for immediate commencement of work on projects totaling to N288.

The projects include extension of the electricity to some parts of Kaiama township totaling N14.3M construction of maternity centre at Kaiama Township amounting to N7.6M and reconstruction of Degeji/Gbajibo road at a cost of N63.7M.

Others are construction of drainage at Banni at a cost of N47M supply of drugs and hospital equipment to all health facilities in the LGA N15M; construction of Kaiama township drainage at a cost of N23M; and construction of two blocks of classrooms each at the local government secondary schools at Gweria, Banni and primary school in Kaiama township which gulps N13M.

He therefore, called on contractors to expidiate actions and executes the jobs according to specifications ‘as no variations will be condoned.’
