According to Lucky Brand’s Marketing Manager Jasper Pako, diesel generators remain the viable alternative to unstable utility power in many African countries, with a guarantee of having a larger market share. Utility power is not meeting demand amidst rising economies in the continent. Diesel generators afford companies lower costs of installing a power back up.
Lucky Brand is provides largest industrial generators but also offers smaller units for homes. The Zimbabwe-based firm has supported agricultural, mining and industrial economies. Lucky Brands has two subsidiaries, Power Shop and Gentech: Power Shop is a retailer of the company’s products across south of Africa with branches in Harare and Kwekwe. The Gentech subdivision carries out the full back up services, repairs and provision of spares for their product range. Notably, the company want expand its Power Shop division into Bulawayo, Gweru and Mutare.
The company wants to extend its products and services to Zambia and other markets out of Zimbabwe.
Lucky’s customized generators are powered by Kipor (renowned for their balance between fuel economy and cost), Nexus, Perkins and Cummins. With up to 51dBA/7m of sound attenuation and sound enclosures on KIPOR diesel engines from Lucky Brands, you and your neighbour can afford a quiet and peaceful environment! The company also uses Perkins 20,000 hour rated diesel engines and Cummins engines. It also sells KIPOR and NEXUS water pumps.
The company plays a critical role in the mining sector and is currently finalizing supplying a mining company with large Cummins powered generator systems of 250KVa, 500KVa and 1MVa.
Pako advises diesel generator buyers to engage a reputable electrical expert to do a proper site survey and thereafter be advised on which generator they must purchase. He adds. “We advise that clients ensure they service the generators as and when necessary. Consistent is key to ensure generator peak performance at all times, as well as longevity of the machine.”
The company also offers solar appliances such as solar panels, inverters and solar geysers.
