Less than 12 months after opening, Cradlestone Mall is already strongly establishing its market position as a super-regional mall. It is attracting noteworthy levels of cross-border shopping from the North West Province, to include consumer support from across Gauteng.

Positioned in a distinctly vibrant growth node, as the city of Johannesburg expands, Cradlestone Mall is proving a popular draw card for retailers who are keen to position their brands in Cradlestone Mall’s growing consumer market.

Besides attracting consumers from its immediate market in Krugersdorp and surrounds, it is also drawing shoppers from the North West province, including Hartebeespoort and Brits, it is also an attractive choice for shoppers from other areas in Gauteng, particularly Pretoria.

“There are strong arterial routes leading to the mall, which is one of the reasons for this success. Cradlestone Mall is drawing shoppers from a broad market, proving its pulling power as a super-regional shopping centre,” reports Cradlestone Mall General Manager, Cara Grobler.

The 76,000sqm Cradlestone Mall opened in November 2013 in the heart of Mogale City on Johannesburg’s West Rand, providing shoppers with fresh retail mix and wide choice in nearly 200 shops, restaurants and services. Owned and developed by Sasol Pension Fund, Pivotal Property Fund and Retail Africa, Cradlestone Mall is managed by Broll Property Group.

Contributing to its growing super-regional appeal is its excellent location, intensified retail variety and its appealing modern design. The mall offers shoppers a refreshingly different aesthetic, inspired by its setting in the World Heritage Site of the Cradle of Humankind and, its formidable line-up of leading brands has been consistently strengthened since the opening of the mall.

Cradlestone Mall’s anchor tenants include Woolworths, Pick n Pay, Checkers, Game with FoodCo, Dion Wired and the Edcon Group. And, during August and September Dis-Chem and Food Lovers’ Market will be opening their doors.

Woolworths is expanding to include Country Road and Trenery and, later in the year Virgin Active will join Cradlestone Mall as a further customer offering and draw card.
