DEM Ghana has unveiled John Deere range of construction and mining equipment in the country. The company is a construction and mining equipment dealer.

John Deere is a subsidiary of DEM Group, who is also a distributor of Hitachi, Wirtgen Group, and Combi Wear Parts.

Gene Cretz, the United States ambassador to Ghana, described the growing demand for infrastructural improvements in Ghana as one that will make the introduction of the construction and mining machinery in the country timely and suitable. He was positive that John Deere quality equipment will boost Ghana’s development, just like the case of United States. Currently the John Deere equipment are already renowned in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

According to the General Manager of DEM Ghana, Patrick de Bantel, John Deere’s experience in dealing with heavy construction and mining machinery was a key factor in the brands they invest in. Despite the challenges faces by the country, the equipment are still a relatively new entrant in the Ghanaian market, stressing the DEM Ghana’s priority for technical support and after sales service for John Deere range of equipment and all their brands will be the reason for customers to turn to the products.

Bantel also mention a training session for their operators and technicians and also considering to put up training facilities for operators of all their customers. The company also acknowledges the difficulty contractors face in procuring expensive equipment and have thereby placed flexible payment packages.

However, agreements are near conclusion with SIC Finance who will provide credit facilities to customers in accordance of purchasing the products as they seek more partners to finance their customers.
