The 25th World Economic Forum meeting has begun in Cape Town South Africa. The meeting which is Themed: Then and Now: Reimagining Africa’s Future, will be the largest meeting to have ever been held in the region.
The meeting will be attended by over 1000 leaders from the business industry, political industry, academia, civil society and media. This meeting will end Friday.
According to the Cabinet spokesperson for South Africa, Phumla Williams, the meeting will feature high level sessions of critical subjects which will showcase opportunities in Africa, the fastest growing region in the world.
There will be a plenary session in the programme where President Zuma and other leaders will be featured. This will be moderated by Professor Klaus Schwab, the Founder and Head of WEF.
Alongside this meeting is the Grow Africa Investment Forum which focus on food security.
Williams further noted that South Africa values the contribution of the World Economic Forum due to its contribution to the economic growth and development in the African Continent. WEF would show that South Africa is open for business.
The 25th World Economic Forum will have live press conferences and briefings to allow the participation of the public to help in future growth and sustainability around the globe.
