The real estate developer known as the City of Light Appolonia is in a construction drive to meet the housing demand in Ghana with the construction of about 500 housing units by December this year. According to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Anthony Okyere, the 500 housing units is part of the 22,000 housing units to be constructed that aim at alleviating the housing demand in Ghana.
The project is currently at an advanced stage in meeting the high demand of housing units for the Ghanaian community of all standards.. The company has already set aside 941 hectares of land at Appolonia in the Kpone Katamanso District and about 2,300 acres which is equivalent to 30% of the total land has been set aside for gardens, parks and other recreational facilities to benefit the residents.
The project will also involve the provision of residential, commercial, industrial health care and leisure facilities for the Appolonia community and even those outside the community. Moreover, the project is a joint partnership between the City of Light Appolonia and Africa’s leading Urban Land Developer known as Rendeavour. The chiefs, leaders and residents of the Appolonia community are also not left behind with their contribution towards the project.
However, activities are ongoing for Corporate Social Responsibility within the community as well as renovation of the community Health Centre and the provision of National Health Insurance cards for the inhabitants. However, a lot of infrastructure is already on the ground, and interested groups, individuals, and estate developers are welcomed for their contribution towards the success of the project as well as enabling it meet international standards.
