Thyssenkrupp appoints Boris van Thiel as the new CEO for Middle East and North Africa (MENA),
In the long term plans for expansion in Africa Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solution has appointed Boris van Thiel as CEO for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), effective 1 December, 2015.

According to the company they are looking into serving their clients better and therefre they needed a person who had the experience.

In August 2014, Thiel joined Thyssenkrupp, where he was head of business development MENA in the process technologies business unit until July 2015.

As part of the integration and regionalisation of its businesses, th firm aims to be close to its customers and participate more strongly in growth in the regions.

To this end, the Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, India, MENA, Asia Pacific and CIS regional clusters have been established with a view to pooling know-how, making better use of existing resources and standardising processes.

Thiel said: “To achieve growth in a heterogeneous MENA market subject to sharp fluctuations, we need to set priorities for markets, portfolio segments, customers, staff requirements and office locations.

Via a network of local partners and our existing offices in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco we can respond quickly and flexibly to customer inquiries. By establishing implementation hubs in Egypt and Saudi Arabia we are continuously improving our regional competitiveness.”

In fiscal 2014-15, Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions generated sales of €1.6bn in the MENA region with around 250 employees.
