The African Construction and Totally Concrete Expo will see the launch of yet another expo, the Construction IT summit and expo on Tuesday, 10 May and Wednesday, 11 May 2016. The event will be hosted at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

As with many other industries, the technological evolution has highly increased the capabilities and capacity of the construction industry. The Construction IT summit and expo will offer attendees with an a greate opportunity to explore and enjoy unique exposure to new developments and trends the IT sector. In addition, it will also offer a great opportunity to network for construction professionals and executives to share their views and experiences regarding the use, application and efficiency of technology in the construction industry.

BIM Institute, one of the presenting partners of the Construction IT summit and expo has dedicated itself to helping and supporting the delivery of requirement and standards of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) strategy for Africa. In doing so, BIM Institute targets to promote standards and processes needed to strengthen Africa’s construction software industry.

Winners of the Women in Construction Award will be announced on Tuesday, 10 May 2016 These awards  recognize women who are front runners in Innovation and technology  within the built environment, as well as identifying women below the age of 30, who have been identified as the ones “to watch”, as they get a foothold within their sector. The awards cocktail evening will be hosted by the City of Joburg together with NHBRC as a gold sponsor, SEDA, CETA Construction Incubator and The City of Cape Town’s Transport Authority, as the bronze sponsors of the event.
