All necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure a successful outing by the organizers of the maiden WOOD EXPO NIGERIA scheduled to hold between 21-24 October 2019 at Sheraton Hotels Abuja, Nigeria.
Speaking exclusively to Construction Review in Lagos, the Director of the Expo, Arc. Bosede Idegbesor said ` Wood Expo Nigeria is about creating awareness to enhance and promote the sustainable use of wood and wood products, bringing values to wood specialist, wood manufacturers, wood equipment/machinery fabricators, professionals by providing a platform to access Quality trade professionals amongst others.
According to her, Wood Expo Nigeria will also enable Nigeria to Qualify for certification as a timber exporting nation, joining the league of sustainable forest nation. She also noted that the specialized Expo would encourage National Tree Planting project/campaign which can trigger the creation of 3million productive economic plantations.
The maiden Edition of Wood Expo Nigeria is expected to be a convergence point for suppliers, manufacturers, machinery companies to show case their products, innovative technologies, production scenarios and large scale machinery to key players in the wood and wood working machinery in Africa and sub -Sahara region.
Bringing players in the sub sector together Idegbesor hoped would promote the Nigerian Government agenda on National Economic Recovery Growth Plan to diversify the economy resulting in the development of various sectors, the wood sector inclusive by exploring wood potentials in the country.
It also aims at promoting the whole wood story from seed collection, through planting and forest propagation, felling and milling to the end product, such as furniture, structural elements and entire building thereby promoting the utilization of wood for positive impact in the built environment.
